I was just in an accident, what should I do?

The average person is not involved in many accidents throughout their life. So not knowing what to do when an accident does happen is common. Blazer's Body Shop is dedicated to our customers, and are more then willing to help you through the process, from start to finish.

  1. First and foremost, make sure you and anyone else involved are ok. Call the Police and/or an ambulance if necessary.

  2. Collect contact and insurance information from everyone involved.
You and/or your insurance company may need this information for legal purposes. You can't be too prepared.

  3. If your vehicle needs towed have it towed directly to Blazer's Body Shop.
Having your vehicle towed directly to the body shop will greatly reduce the amount of time it takes for the repairs to your vehicle to actually begin. It will also prevent extra charges for towing and storage that your insurance company may not cover. About 25% of collision damage is considered "hidden damage". An insurance adjuster will only write the estimate for the damage he or she can see. If your vehicle is already at the shop, we will have it "tore down" before the adjuster arrives. Then, we will physically go over the damage and plan for the repairs with the insurance company. This will help eliminate delays for ordering extra parts and supplementing additional work later on in the repair process.

  4. Call your insurance company to start the claim, and let them know the location of your vehicle.

  5. Call Blazer's and provide us with the claim information. We will handle it from here.

  6. We do our best to keep you the customer up to date on the status of your vehicle. Your vehicle is not only a large investment, but also a huge part of your everyday life. We understand the first thing that comes to mind, is the amount of down time you will incur. We do everything we can to get you back up and running as soon as possible, but we refuse to have a vehicle leave our shop that not only looks as it did pre-accident, but also performs with the same function and safety.

Can I choose the collision repair facility where my car will be repaired?

You are not obligated to choose a collision repair facility that your insurance company recommends. In fact, it is illegal for an insurance company to persuade you to use a particular shop, nor are you required to obtain multiple estimates. You are the owner of your vehicle, and it is your decision.

Can you match the paint on my car?

Today's factory finishes consist of several layers of highly specialized paints. Blazer's Body Shop has made major investments in our paint system and equipment. We use PPG Envirobase hp waterborne paint. This technology is not only better for our employees, and the environment, but also allows us to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches the factory finish.

How can I get a rental car?

If you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant. Check your policy or call your insurance agent to find out if you have rental coverage and what your limitations are.

Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Yes. Blazer's Body Shop guarantees all repairs with a lifetime (as long as you own the vehicle) warranty on labor and paint, and all parts have a warranty that is at least equal to that of the manufacturer.
